The Surf Bronze Camp at Lakes Entrance SLSC is the place to be if you're looking to learn new skills, have a blast, and make a positive impact on your community. This action-packed camp takes place right on the beach and offers two main awards: the Bronze Medallion for those aged 15 and above, and the Surf Rescue Certificate for 13 to 14-year-olds. It's a fantastic opportunity for personal and physical development.
Running from 8 am to 5 pm each day, the camp covers a variety of areas that are listed in the training manual you'll receive. And don't worry, we've got a COVID Safe Plan in place to ensure the safety of all participants. So you can focus on having an unforgettable experience.
Mark your calendars for the camp dates from the 11th to the 17th. If you're going for the Bronze Medallion, you'll be staying on camp for the full six days. For Surf Rescue Certificate participants, you'll attend daily from 8 am to 5 pm. And the prices? Bronze participants will pay $350 ($250 for members), while SRC participants will pay $250 ($170 for members).
Time is of the essence, as applications close two weeks before the camp. But don't worry if you miss the deadline, we accept late entries on a case-by-case basis. For registration and any additional information, shoot an email to chief.instructor@lakesentrancesurflifesaving.org.au.
Now, here's the deal: we expect all candidates to commit to at least one season of beach patrols. You'll be rostered for about five patrols per member, giving you plenty of opportunities to contribute to our amazing club. And before the camp kicks off, there will be timed pool swims. So remember to bring your goggles and bathers for swimming.
For those who can't make the full week-long commitment or parents with children in the 'Nipper Program,' we've got you covered too. The camp offers a Part-Time Bronze option. If that sounds like the right fit for you, register your interest or get in touch with chief.instructor@lakesentrancesurflifesaving.org.au.
