About
Could learn.
At Brooks Swim School, we offer a variety of lessons to cater to different age groups and skill levels. Children's lessons are available for those aged 3 and above, where we teach everything from complete non-swimmers to children looking to improve their technique and water skills. We also offer ladies-only sessions for those who prefer a more comfortable and private environment. Additionally, we have Swim Squad sessions designed for advanced swimmers who are looking to further develop their skills before joining a club.
Our swim lessons take place at two different locations. Children's lessons are held at the Keech Hospice pool on Wednesday evenings and at the Lealands school pool on Friday evenings. Ladies-only sessions are also conducted at Keech on Wednesday evenings, while the Swim Squad session for advanced swimmers takes place at Lealands on Friday evenings.
What sets us apart is our commitment to providing a friendly and enthusiastic learning environment for all our students. We want your child to not only become confident in the water but also enjoy swimming. As a Swim England Swim School, we prioritise safety and ensure that all our teachers are fully qualified and DBS checked. We also have a lifeguard on duty and maintain a higher ratio of adults to children than required by Swim England.
Affordability and small class sizes are also key features of our swim school. We believe that small groups enable better focus on individual students, especially when working with non-swimmers or beginners. Our teachers are even in the water with the students to provide hands-on guidance and support. We follow the school term calendar and take breaks during holidays, so you don't need to worry about paying for missed lessons.
However, we do offer additional lessons during the summer holidays for those who wish to continue swimming and progressing.
In terms of progression, we follow the Swim England award scheme. Students can start as complete non-swimmers and work their way through earning Duckling badges, followed by the Swim England Learn to Swim pathway stages 1-4. After stage 4, the focus shifts to Water Skills and Water Safety awards to ensure students become competent, safe swimmers.
If you're interested in joining our swim school, please visit our website for more information on the classes we offer and how to book. We often have a waiting list due to high demand, so be sure to contact us early to secure a spot. At Brooks Swim School, we are passionate about teaching swimming and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn this important life skill while enjoying the water.
