Broughton Skatepark

Broughton Skatepark is a newly completed facility located off Brookes Avenue in Chester. This skate park came to fruition thanks to the efforts of local youngsters Ryan Lavender and Aaron Sibley, who approached the community council nearly two years ago with a request to build a skate park.

The community council, led by chairwoman Sue Stevens, was impressed by the boys' initiative and began working alongside them to bring their idea to life. With the support of the youth club and Sue Gilligan, a representative from Flintshire County Council, the process started to take shape.

Funding for the skate park was secured through the construction of nearby houses, ensuring that the facility would serve the needs and desires of the community. The plans for the park were shared with the kids, who expressed their approval, leading to the project's approval by the planning authorities.

The entire process, from conception to completion, took less than two years, a testament to the dedication and collaboration of all those involved. Broughton Skatepark offers a safe and exciting space for skateboarders of all ages and skill levels to perfect their tricks and enjoy the thrill of skateboarding.

Featuring a variety of ramps, rails, and obstacles, the park is designed to cater to the needs of both experienced skaters and beginners. The layout and features of the skate park have been carefully chosen to provide a diverse and challenging environment for skaters to develop their skills and creativity.

The skate park is not only a place for individuals to practise their skateboarding skills but also serves as a hub for the skateboarding community in Chester.
