BRUDENELL RIDING STABLES

Brudenell Riding Stables, located in Cardigan, offers PEI's only horseback ride that takes you on the beach! The trail rides are open from June 1 to October 1 from 9 am until dusk, with rides available in June and October by appointment. Riders must be 7 years old or older, except for pony rides which are available for all ages. Reservations are recommended, and riders should arrive 20 minutes early for their ride.

Trail rides last for one hour and leave every 1. 5 hours starting at 11 am, 2 pm, and 5 pm. Riders are advised to wear long pants and sneakers, with no open-toe shoes or sandals allowed. Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended, and helmets are provided and mandatory for everyone.

Private trail rides are also available with advance reservations required.

Pony rides are available from 9 am to 7 pm for all ages, either on or off the property for events like birthday parties. The trail rides cost $50 for a one-hour ride, with a discount for those showing a PEI license. Gratuities are recommended for guides. Private trail rides are $70 and an experienced special trail ride, including walking, trotting, and cantering on the beach, costs $150.

A new trail ride, Lakeside Trail Rides, is available for ages 16 and older at a new location. This ride is not your average nose-to-tail trail ride, with the opportunity for beach rides on white sand for $75 per person. Gift certificates are available, and carriage tours are also offered at Brudenell Riding Stables.
