About

The Bruny Island Ultra Marathon is excited to announce their upcoming event on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Participants can tackle the challenging 64 km course either solo or as part of a relay team. With entry fees set at $50.00 for adults and $20.00 for juniors, it's an event that promises to be fun for all.

Starting at the picturesque Dennes Point picnic area and finishing at the iconic lighthouse in Cloudy Bay, runners will traverse a mix of bitumen and dirt roads. The course is split into manageable 2 km legs, allowing relay runners to switch at designated changeover points along the route.

To make the most of the experience, participants are advised to plan their travel well in advance. It's approximately a 40-minute drive from Hobart to Kettering, followed by a ferry ride and a short drive to the start area. Don't forget to bring along plenty of water for the journey, as staying hydrated is key during the run.

Safety is a top priority during the event, with public toilets available along the route and designated changeover points ensuring smooth transitions. Runners must keep to the right side of the road, facing oncoming traffic, and drivers are reminded to stop only where it is safe to do so.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship by Parks and Wildlife, park entrance fees have been waived for the event. However, all National Park rules must still be followed to protect the environment and preserve the beauty of the park. The Bruny Island Ultra Marathon looks forward to welcoming all participants for an unforgettable day of running and camaraderie.
