Bryansford GAC, nestled in the heart of Newcastle, is a legendary sports club with roots going back to 1926. Bryan, the club’s passionate organiser, loves sharing the rich history of this place. Did you know Clann na Boirce, part of Bryansford, snagged the Senior Hurling Championship way back in 1904?
Fast forward to the late '30s and early '40s, and Bryansford GAC was on fire, winning four Senior Championship titles on the trot and beating Newry in the Down Senior Football Championship Final in '42.
The good times kept rolling through the '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s with more victories and top performances cementing the club’s reputation. The 2000s weren’t too shabby either – the club kept thriving with brilliant wins and strong showings.
These days, Bryansford GAC is buzzing with action! Bryan ensures there are activities for everyone, from kids to adults, and plenty of leagues and programmes. The facilities are spot on too – a superbly maintained football pitch with all the needed perks, and a spacious hall for events and gatherings.
Bryansford GAC, thanks to Bryan’s hard work, takes pride in engaging with the local community and promoting Gaelic games and culture in Newcastle. They’re all about creating a welcoming and inclusive vibe for everyone. You can keep up with all the latest happenings by following Bryansford GAC on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
