Builders Merchants Golf Society (BMGS) is a golf club located in Cheadle, New Zealand. The society is open to any golfer who is associated with a Builder's Merchant, including Lightside, Heavyside, and Timber industries, as well as other related industries.
The main goal of BMGS is to foster social relationships between merchants, their customers, suppliers, and service providers while also raising funds for charitable organisations in the community. They believe in the power of working together to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
The society holds various events throughout the year, including the Llandudno Cup NWGC, an open event that took place at North Wales Golf Club in December 2023. The event was proudly sponsored by the BMGS Golf Society Committee and Wonder Grip Limited. The society members also enjoy dining together at local restaurants, such as the East Chinese Restaurant at the Chatsworth House Hotel, creating a sense of camaraderie and community.
In addition to their golfing activities, BMGS also participates in charity events to support organisations like Beechwood Cancer Care and St. David's Hospice. They aim to make a difference in the lives of those in need within their community.
Membership subscriptions for the 2024 season are due from January 15, 2024. The annual subscription fee is 25. 00, payable to Les Lawrence, who is one of the co-founders of the society. Payments can be made in cash, by check, bank transfer, or through the Sum Up card reader.
