Welcome to Bujinkan Australia, the longest standing Bujinkan Dojo in Australia with over 30 years of experience. The school is located in Beenleigh and is led by Dai Shihan Jamie Mac Aninch, and also has a new dojo on the Gold Coast instructed by Go Dan, Chris Hogan. Bujinkan Australia focuses on Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, also known as Ninjutsu, a Japanese martial art that has evolved over a 1000-year period of warfare and peace in Japan.
While some may question the validity of a martial art developed during the dark ages of Japan, Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu proves that the ancient art forms of the Samurai and Ninja can be highly effective and adaptive to the modern day landscape. If you're looking for a self-defence martial art in the southern Brisbane area, Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is the perfect choice.
The Bujinkan Dojo consists of nine traditional schools, or Ryuha, under the guidance of Soke Masaaki Hatsumi, the Grandmaster of Bujinkan. The techniques taught at Bujinkan Australia have evolved over centuries and cover a wide range of unarmed techniques such as punches, kicks, throws, joint locks, pressure point control, and grappling. Students also learn various weapons including swords, spears, staffs, knives, and Ninja weapons like shuriken (throwing stars) and shuki (hand claws).
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu focuses on natural movement to overcome speed and power. Students learn to refine their movement for grace and naturalness while developing “true strength” through subtlety of movement, evasiveness, adjustment of position, and the use of the body as a whole. The training in Bujinkan also emphasises Jissen Gata, real fighting style, to ensure students are well-prepared for real-life situations.
At Bujinkan Australia, self-defence training is suitable for everyone regardless of gender, size, shape, or level of fitness. The dojo is committed to maintaining its warrior heritage while being effective in modern times, setting it apart from many other martial arts practises.
To belong to Bujinkan Australia, participants must adhere to the basic rules and guidelines of the Bujinkan Dojo. This includes agreeing and upholding the guidelines, exercising patience, self-control, and dedication, and providing a physician's examination report. Individuals with mental illness, drug addiction, mental instability, criminal records, or infectious diseases are not allowed to join.
If you're interested in joining Bujinkan Australia, please contact Jamie Mac Aninch for further information and to confirm your eligibility to attend the Beenleigh Dojo.
