Leading the team at Burley Strength is John Sheridan, the owner and director of coaching. With a coaching career that began in 2011, John's passion lies in strength and training for performance in all aspects of life. After starting his gym journey at the age of 14 to improve his performance in Rugby Union, John later discovered the sport of powerlifting. Since then, he has competed at a high level, earning multiple national titles and records.

Notably, he is one of only two athletes to have squatted over 400 kg+ in two separate weight classes. In the post-COVID world, John has also shifted his training focus to endurance sports like running and mountain activities.
