Our classes include Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft, Musical Theatre, and Street dance. We follow the syllabus of reputable dance organisations such as the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) for Ballet, and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) for other dance genres. This ensures that our students receive a comprehensive and well-rounded dance education.
In addition to dance classes for children, we also offer classes for adults. Whether you want to tap your troubles away, join our Ballet Silver Swans programme, or work on control, balance, and core stability in Pilates, we have a class for you. We believe that dance is for everyone, regardless of age or skill level, and we foster a fun and inclusive atmosphere in all our adult classes.
We are proud to support the government initiative Change 4 Life, and we actively promote a healthy lifestyle for both adults and children. Burnley Dance Centre is also a Children's University learning destination, where students can collect their learning hours. Our founder, Paula Scales, has an impressive background in dance education. She holds a Master of Teaching degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She is also registered with the RAD (Registered Teacher's Status) and is a member of the ISTD, AISTD, and LIDTA. Paula brings her passion for dance and her expertise to every class, ensuring that all students receive the best possible instruction and guidance.
