About
Bushido Ju-Jitsu Dojo in Colchester offers Ju-Jitsu classes that focus on control and self-defence rather than brute strength. The dojo, led by dedicated instructors, ensures students learn to handle opponents with minimal effort. This ancient art, followed by samurais, is all about exploiting weak points and defending oneself effectively.
At Bushido Ju-Jitsu Dojo, the emphasis isn't on becoming a top fighter. Instead, students are taught to relax both mind and body, focusing on avoiding injuries by using proper movements. They learn to defend against various attacks and eventually master the art of throwing an opponent off balance.
After around a year of training, students begin to develop their own Ju-Jitsu style. They start to break down techniques, add their unique flair, and become more aware of potential dangers in everyday situations.
Bushido Ju-Jitsu Dojo offers the first lesson for free, followed by a one-month trial period. If students choose to continue, a membership fee of £30 covers the initial year’s insurance, a licence book, and a club badge.
Classes are held at New Hall Kelvedon Institute, 78 High Street, Kelvedon, Colchester, Essex, CO59AA. Kids classes run on Thursdays from 17:30 to 18:30, followed by adult classes from 19:00 to 21:00. There’s also an adults archery class on Sundays from 10:00 to 13:00.
