It is a fixed series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises designed to provide health-giving benefits. The series works on every joint, muscle, ligament, tendon, organ, and system of the body, promoting overall health. The heated room (40–42 degrees and 40% humidity) supports deep stretching and aids in the detoxification of the body through sweating and lymphatic movement. Each posture is done twice with savasana in between, and beginners and experts alike can enjoy the class as there are entry-level descriptions for each posture, allowing for gradual progress into more advanced versions.
For those with a tight schedule, Hot Bikram Yoga Express is available, offering the same sequence of postures and heated environment but in a shorter 60-minute format. It moves at a quicker flow with less rest, providing maximum benefits in a shorter time. Brand new students are welcome, but attending a full 90-minute class in the first instance may help them grasp the postures better.
In addition to Hot Bikram Yoga, . B Yoga also offers Hot Inferno Pilates, a 60-minute class that provides a high-intensity, low-impact workout. It focuses on core, leg, and arm strength and was founded by Gabrielle Walters in Las Vegas in 2009. This class offers all the buzz of Bikram with more emphasis on core and cardio.
