At Cabaret Theatre School in Burton-on-Trent, students are provided with an all-round dance training in a happy and friendly atmosphere. The school aims to encourage self-confidence, personality, discipline, coordination, good posture, flexibility, and most importantly, fun!
The school offers a variety of classes in Dance and Musical Theatre, including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, and Singing. Students are entered for IDTA exams at regular intervals, allowing them to receive certificates and awards for their achievements. With a 100% exam pass rate, Cabaret Theatre School prides itself on its commitment to excellence in training.
Both of the school's branches have their own shows held in local theatres in Derby and Burton. These shows are a great opportunity for all students to showcase their talent and gain performance experience. Every student is invited to take part and contribute to these exciting productions.
The principal of Cabaret Theatre School, Sally Everson FIDTA, is a Fellow of the International Dance Teachers Association. Sally has extensive experience, having trained as a dancer from a young age and worked professionally in cabaret shows around the world. She opened Cabaret Theatre School in Burton in 1996 and later expanded to a second branch in Littleover, Derby in 2003. Sally continues to train and hopes to become an examiner for the IDTA.
The school's team of qualified teachers includes Lorien Conti AIDTA, who is responsible for teaching all subjects at both the Littleover and Burton schools. Lorien trained at Cabaret Theatre School herself and performed at Her Majestys Theatre in Londons West End. Andrea Osborne AIDTA teaches Ballet and Jazz at both branches, bringing her training from the Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst Ballet School. Sara Evans-Bolger, a primary school teacher and Doctorate in Education candidate, teaches at the Littleover school and on holiday workshops.
Chris Moss, a former student of Cabaret Theatre School, is now the director of the school's Theatre Company productions. Additionally, Melissa Columbell AIDTA serves as a dance teacher.
Cabaret Theatre School offers more than just dance classes. They also host holiday workshops with fun musical-themed activities for younger students. Additionally, their Burton studio hosts the Glow Bambino class, which is a multisensory class designed for babies and toddlers.
