Cambridge Golf Club

David Jecks, a respected local historian and former club member, has been instrumental in preserving the rich history of the Cambridge Golf Club. Established in 1900 and located at its current site since 1924, the club has become a cherished institution in Cambridge, inviting golfers of all skill levels.

The Cambridge Golf Club features an all-weather course that provides a robust challenge for any golfer. Nestled in valleys and contours shaped by the Waikato River over 150,000 years ago, the course offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Members and guests can relax in the spacious lounge, perfect for functions and corporate events, or enjoy a fully stocked bar. On sunny days, the balcony overlooking the 18th green is an ideal spot to unwind with a beverage. Paynters Catering serves a variety of delicious hot and cold food options to suit any palate.

For those keen on improving their play, the club offers two practise areas. A practise range with target greens allows players to hone their iron skills, with buckets of balls available from the Pro Shop. Another area with a green includes chipping and bunker zones for short game practise.

Golf carts can be rented from the Pro Shop, or visitors may bring their own, though a check-in with the office is recommended in wet conditions. Note, for safety, Two Wheel Scooters are not allowed due to the course’s undulating terrain.
