The Armidale Little Athletics Centre Inc, a well-known Little Athletics club in Armidale Dumaresq Council, is excited to promote the upcoming Campus to City Canter! This annual 5 km fun run has become a beloved event in the local community and will take place in beautiful Armidale, NSW.
The fun begins at the SportUNE Consett Davis sporting fields, where participants will gather for a memorable start. From there, they will follow the scenic bike path that winds its way into the heart of the city, finishing at the picturesque Civic Park. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy Armidale's stunning natural surroundings while engaging in a playful and energetic activity.
What makes the Campus to City Canter even more special is that it coincides with the Armidale Autumn Festival, adding an extra dose of excitement and festive spirit to the event. It's the perfect blend of athleticism and community celebration.
One of the great aspects of this fun run is that it is open not only to club members but also to the public. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting your fitness journey, this event is designed for people of all ages and abilities. You can choose to run individually or gather your friends, family, or colleagues and participate as a team.
To make things even more thrilling, we will be awarding medals to the fastest runners in each category. That means there will be recognition for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quickest times for both males and females, as well as for the quickest team. To be eligible for the team event, you will need to form a team of at least three members. The team with the fastest combined time from its first three runners will be crowned as the winners.
Of course, safety is always a top priority for us. We want everyone to have a fantastic time, but it's essential to remain cautious, especially when crossing several roads along the bike path. Rest assured, we will have road closures and traffic control personnel in place to ensure a smooth and secure experience for all participants.
