Is an enriching experience for all. Our classes are held at the Sport Wales National Centre at Sophia Gardens, providing a convenient and accessible location for everyone.
At Cardiff Central Kung Fu Club, we have a team of experienced and dedicated instructors, led by Sifu Pace, a seventh-degree black belt with over 30 years of martial arts experience. Our instructors are passionate about teaching and are committed to helping students reach their full potential in kung fu.
We welcome individuals of all skill levels, whether you are a complete novice or have previous martial arts experience. Our classes cater to a wide variety of individuals, offering a holistic approach to kung fu training. By joining our classes, you can expect to improve your fitness, flexibility, and learn valuable self-defence skills. Our training sessions are designed to challenge and inspire, providing a supportive environment for personal growth.
At Cardiff Central Kung Fu Club, we teach the Shaolin Gaocan Mun Nam-Pai-Chuan kung fu system. This system, rooted in the rich and vast heritage of Chinese martial arts, encompasses a wide range of techniques, including kicking, punching, locking (chin-na), take-downs, throws, and nerve points. By learning this comprehensive system, students can gain a solid foundation in martial arts and discover their own areas of specialisation.
In addition to physical training, we also emphasise the importance of internal conditioning and breathing exercises (chi-gung). These practises help students develop control over their body's chi or energy, enhancing overall well-being and martial arts skills.
We are proud to offer women's self-defence classes, recognising the specific needs and requirements of women in self-defence situations. Our classes integrate techniques that empower women and provide them with the confidence and skills to protect themselves in unfavourable circumstances.
Our teaching philosophy centres around the belief that kung fu is a martial art, not a sport. We approach training with respect, emphasising discipline and good behaviour. While we value tradition and aesthetics, we also prioritise practicality and real-world applications.
Whether you're interested in trying kung fu for the first time or looking to continue your martial arts journey, Cardiff Central Kung Fu Club is the place for you. You are always welcome to join our training sessions, which can be done in comfortable attire such as jogging bottoms and a t-shirt. We ask students to remove jewellery and tape over items that cannot be removed, such as rings. Training can be done either barefoot or with trainers, and the use of headbands and wristbands is encouraged.
For those with long hair, it should be tied up for safety.
We invite you to come and train or observe our classes and become a part of the Cardiff Central Kung Fu community. Learning Chinese Kung Fu with us is an opportunity for personal growth, physical fitness, and self-defence skills that can benefit you both inside and outside the training hall.
