Cardio Kids Fitness Program, a local fitness club in Maidstone, is excited to promote an upcoming fitness event designed specifically for children aged 9 to 12 years. This program aims to tackle the growing issue of childhood obesity and lack of exercise in the UK. The event will be held at Freedom Leisure, located on St. Peters St in Maidstone.
At Cardio Kids, our main focus is to instil a routine of exercise and cardiovascular activity in children from an early age. By doing so, we not only provide them with the benefits of a healthier lifestyle but also the opportunity to form lasting friendships with like-minded children. In today's sedentary world with computer games, the internet, TV, and gaming devices taking up children's time, obesity has unfortunately become a cultural norm. That's why we make exercise fun and disciplined, helping children realise the true benefits of fitness.
Research has shown that physically active children tend to be more academically motivated, alert, and successful. Moreover, engaging in physical activity promotes self-esteem, strengthens muscles and bones, and improves sleep habits. Our program is led by the experienced trainer, Steve Green, who has worked with professional athletes including Tim Henman. Steve understands the needs of athletes and approaches fitness from a parent's perspective, ensuring that exercise is not only enjoyable but also productive.
For our fitness classes, participants are required to wear a red uniform T-shirt and appropriate trainers. Additionally, we offer school clubs that focus on tennis, rounders, and multi-sports, giving children a variety of athletic options in Maidstone. Our program can also be brought into schools as a breakfast, lunchtime, or after-school club.
The current term for the Cardio Kids Fitness Program runs from Sunday, 18th April to Wednesday, 14th July 2021, except the May half-term. The cost for the term is £72, and participants are also required to pay £11 per term as part of the Freedom Leisure membership, which is paid three times per year.
During our fitness classes, we focus on improving coordination, balance, stamina, fitness, and cardiovascular health. Each class begins and ends with a 5-minute stretch warm-up and cool-down session. Rest assured, all necessary equipment will be provided for the classes. Our Wednesday class runs from 4 to 5 pm, though please note that due to Covid cleaning restrictions, classes may finish 5 minutes earlier.
