Carrington Ballet Academy, located in Oban, Scotland, is where young dancers are moulded into performers. With a vision to guide the next generation of talent, the academy, helmed by Principal Kerryanne, a registered teacher with TDSC and PVG, commits to delivering high-quality dance education in a secure and supportive environment.
The academy’s structured classes cater to all ages and levels. The journey begins with Pre-Primary Ballet for children aged 2½ to 4, laying the groundwork in musicality, coordination, skips, pony gallops, and pliés. Moving up, 4 to 6-year-olds enter Primary Ballet, honing their coordination with steps like tendus and spring points.
As students grow, they step into Grade 1 Ballet for ages 6 to 8, focusing on free movement and basic ballet steps. Grade 2, for 7 to 9-year-olds, introduces Barre work, basic adagio, and advanced allegro. Grade 3 Ballet for ages 9 to 11 delves deeper into complex Barre and centre work, including simple allegro enchainment and Grand Allegro, held on Fridays.
For 11 to 14-year-olds, Grade 4 Ballet continues to challenge with advanced exercises, pirouettes, and turns from the corner, with classes on Fridays at 6 pm. Beyond ballet, the academy offers Junior Dance & Acro (ages 5 to 9) and Intermediate Dance & Acro (ages 9 to 13), blending Jazz/Modern Dance, Hip Hop techniques, and acrobatics like cartwheels and handstands, emphasising safe and effective muscle development.
Carrington Ballet Academy’s dedication goes beyond physical training, fostering creativity, discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence. Private classes are available for personalised attention.
