Our dance school, Carroll-Turner School of Dance (CTSD Studios), is located in Brighton, New Zealand. Established in 2001, we are a leading dance school that offers exceptional training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern.

At CTSD Studios, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality dance education. We offer RAD ballet (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus classes and exams, as well as ISTD Modern and Tap classes and exams. We also have open jazz and ballet classes available for teenagers and adults. For the youngest dancers, we provide Nursery ballet classes starting at 3 years old.

Our students have the opportunity to take examinations in various dance disciplines and grades. Additionally, we organise a biennial show where our students can showcase their skills in a professional theatre setting. We also encourage our students to audition for outside performance opportunities and associate programmes, ensuring they have a well-rounded dance education.

Our primary goal is to nurture and build confidence through dance. We believe that dance is for everyone, regardless of ability. Therefore, we welcome children, young people, and adults of all levels and backgrounds to join our dance community.

The founder and principal of Carroll-Turner School of Dance is Aileen Carroll-Turner. With a passion for dance, Aileen began her dance journey at the age of seven. She had a successful career as a professional dancer, performing in the UK and across Europe for twelve years. After her professional career, she pursued further training at the Stella Man College of Performing Arts and the Royal Academy of Dance, obtaining teaching qualifications in RAD Ballet and ISTD Tap and Modern.

Aileen has extensive teaching experience, having held positions at Brighton College, Roedean, ICTheatre, and Marina Studios. She has also taught advanced and professional Jazz at Pineapple Covent Garden and Danceworks London. In 2001, Aileen opened CTSD Studios, where her students have gone on to train at renowned dance colleges such as London Studio Centre, Trinity Laban, and the Centre Performing Arts College. Many of her students have also participated in prestigious programmes and summer schools, including the Royal Ballet School's associate programme and Summer Schools at American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet School, and Paris Opera Ballet.

In addition to her dedication to dance, Aileen took on a new challenge in 2010 – ballroom and Latin dance. With her dance partner, she is currently the UK Closed, British National, and European over 50 Latin champion, as well as the UK Closed over 50 ballroom champion.
