Castleton Health and Leisure Centre is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) that prides itself on being a small and friendly community swimming pool. Without the hustle and bustle of larger leisure centres, it offers a more personal and intimate swimming experience. By using the facilities at Castleton Health and Leisure Centre, visitors are not only enjoying a great swimming experience but also supporting a worthy cause.

The public swimming sessions at Castleton Health and Leisure Centre are available seven days a week and cater to various preferences and needs. From lane swimming, fun pods, open public swimming, to ladies-only sessions, there is something for everyone. The swimming pool is also available for hire to swimming clubs and teachers, allowing them to make use of this wonderful facility.

Swimming lessons at Castleton Health and Leisure Centre are conducted by professional swimming organisations. Both adults and children can benefit from the lessons provided by esteemed organisations such as Castleton Swimming Club and Aquabears of Rochdale. The Fun Splash and Wobstacle parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. These parties guarantee a great time and lasting memories for children and loved ones.

One of the highlights of Castleton Health and Leisure Centre is the “HydRose” hydrotherapy pool. This state-of-the-art facility provides respite and relief to individuals suffering from various conditions such as Parkinson's, ASD, and Fibromyalgia. The hydrotherapy pool also serves as a sports recovery resource for athletes, allowing them to recuperate and enhance their performance.

Castleton Health and Leisure Centre boasts excellent facilities to ensure visitors have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The main swimming pool measures 20m × 9m and has a shallow depth of 0. 91m and a deep end depth of 1. 8m.

The hydrotherapy pool, with a depth of 1300 mm, is a fantastic asset to the local community. The centre also offers disabled changing facilities, free parking, a Far Infrared Sauna, and even in-house podiatry services.

The history of Castleton Health and Leisure Centre dates back to 1910 when the Castleton Swimming Baths were first opened. This historic facility has stood the test of time, surviving numerous challenges, including world wars and economic downturns. In recent years, it faced the threat of demolition but was saved by the efforts of local businessperson Nick Crewe, who formed Castleton Health and Leisure CIC Ltd to ensure the pool's continued operation.
