The Academy is owned and directed by Charity Van Gameren, a seasoned professional in the performing arts industry with over 25 years of experience as a teacher, director, and performer. Cherise McInnis, the dance instructor and choreographer, brings her expertise and passion for dance to the Academy. With 16 years of teaching experience and a background in intensive dance training, Cherise is committed to helping students discover the joy and artistry of dance.
Jenae Bennett, the voice instructor, is a talented performer with years of experience in musical theatre and competitive singing. Her credits include roles in productions such as “The Sound of Music,” and she is dedicated to helping students develop their vocal skills and express themselves through music.
Sara Mori Jones, the assistant director, is a multi-talented teacher, director, and performer with a background in theatre and speech arts. With roots in the Vernon School of Speech and Drama, Sara brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to the Academy, inspiring students to explore their talents on stage.
Heidi Hewitt, the piano and voice instructor, rounds out the team with over 30 years of teaching experience and a passion for music education. As a member of the BC Registered Music Teachers Association, Heidi is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential in music.
