Chiefswood Park

Chiefswood Park, located in Ohsweken, offers a unique getaway experience that delves into authentic Haudenosaunee culture while providing guests with simple luxuries. Visitors have the freedom to tailor their own experience, whether it be through guided cultural tours on land or water, exploring the Chiefswood National Historic Site, participating in environmental and archaeological discoveries, or learning about ancient artifacts. As the territory has historically been a meeting point, Chiefswood Park serves as a place for cultural sharing and exchange.

Guests can immerse themselves in the teachings of the beautiful surroundings, amidst stunning Carolinian forest and prairie grassland on the banks of the iconic Grand River. The park offers various accommodation options, including 11 small luxury cabins for 1–4 guests, five grand cabins for 1–6 guests, as well as rough and serviced camping options with views of the Grand River. Additionally, there are opportunities for canoeing, with a newly opened boat launch, allowing guests to explore the river at their leisure.

Chiefswood Park aims to educate visitors about authentic Haudenosaunee culture, offering a range of product experiences in collaboration with Six Nations Tourism. Guests can book full or half-day experience packages, or add on mini adventures to their stay. The park is also situated in proximity to Six Nations, a world-class cultural heritage destination, offering a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options throughout the community.

For updates and promotions, visitors are encouraged to sign up for the Adventure Club. Parking is free for guests staying overnight, with day passes available for purchase at $5, and annual passes at $50. Community members can also enjoy free parking upon presentation of proof of residence. Chiefswood Park provides a rich cultural experience, inviting guests to explore and appreciate the history and traditions of the Haudenosaunee people in a picturesque natural setting.
