Childwall Karate Academy is one of Liverpool's premier karate training centres, specialising in the traditional Okinawan martial art of Goju-Ryu karate. Led by Sensei Roy Flatt, an 8th Dan IOGKF, this academy boasts one of the most highly qualified Goju-Ryu karate instructors in the UK. If interested, individuals are also encouraged to join in, wearing a t-shirt and loose training tracksuit bottoms. It's important to note that shoes are not worn in the dojo, as is traditional in karate practise.

In terms of training venues, the main Childwall location is at Gateacre School on Hedgefield Road, Liverpool, L25 2RW. Training times for Childwall classes are as follows: Mondays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and Thursdays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Junior classes, designed for individuals up to 4th kyu/green belt, are held from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, with senior classes following from 7:15pm to 9:00pm.
For those residing in Heswall, Childwall Karate Academy also provides training sessions at Thingwall Recreation Centre on Sparks Lane, Wirral, CH61 7XE. Heswall training takes place on Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 7:30pm and Sundays from 10:00am to 11:30am.
