City Kids Surfing was founded by a passionate group of London-based teachers and youth workers who wanted to share their love for the ocean with the next generation. We recognised the lack of opportunities for city kids to experience the transformative power of surfing and decided to take action.

Our team is dedicated to introducing children from inner-city communities to the ocean and providing them with a safe and supportive environment to explore and learn. We believe that the ocean has the ability to inspire and empower children, and we want to give them the chance to discover their own “surfing superpowers” – strength, confidence, connexion, and camaraderie.

Through our tailored programme, we ensure that our Urban Oceaneers learn essential skills such as swimming, beach safety, basic life-saving, and marine conservation. By combining these skills with the exhilaration of surfing, we create a truly transformative experience for the children we work with.
