Club de Golf Duparquet, located in Duparquet, offers a picturesque and challenging public golf course for golf enthusiasts of all levels. The club was founded in 1932 when the town was a major producer of gold in Canada, with the initial course consisting of just three holes. Over the years, the course expanded and evolved into the beautiful 9-hole course it is today.
The history of the club is intertwined with the mining industry in the area, with the golf course originally owned and managed by a mining company. However, in the 1970s, the mine sold the course to its members, leading to the formation of Club de Golf Duparquet as a member-run association. In 1988, the club expanded its offerings by opening an 18-hole course in La Sarre, which is also managed by the same organization.
In 2014, due to financial reasons, the club divided its assets, creating a new nonprofit organization specifically for the Duparquet course. Since then, Club de Golf Duparquet has been responsible for the maintenance and operation of the golf course in Duparquet, providing a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers in the region.
The club operates as a semi-private club, allowing both members and non-members to enjoy the facilities through membership or green fee options. The club is only open during the summer season, offering golfers the opportunity to play on a well-maintained course surrounded by beautiful scenery. In addition to golf, the club also offers rental space for various events such as weddings and business meetings, as well as a restaurant and bar open to all visitors.
Whether you're a seasoned golfer looking for a new course to explore or a beginner seeking a welcoming and accommodating environment to learn the game, Club de Golf Duparquet provides a friendly and inclusive atmosphere for all. Join us for a round of golf, a delicious meal at the restaurant, or a special event in a picturesque setting. We look forward to welcoming you to our club!
