Club Nautique du Petit Lac Magog is a sailing club located in Sherbrooke. The club offers a range of sailing experiences for both beginners and experienced sailors. With a fleet that includes the stunning new Hunter 22 sailboat available for rental, members can enjoy the thrill of sailing on the beautiful waters of Petit Lac Magog.
To rent the Hunter 22 sailboat, members must have a minimum sailing qualification of CANSAIL 2 or White Sail 3, or an equivalent certification assessed by one of our experienced instructors. Rental rates for the Hunter 22 are $160 for 3 hours, $240 for a full day, with an additional $30 per hour for a captain, if needed. A mandatory 1-hour familiarization session with a club instructor is also available for $35.
For those looking to learn how to sail, the club offers beginner sailing courses on sporty dinghies such as the Laser and Tupper. These courses take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4 pm to 7 pm, totalling 12 hours of instruction. The regular fee for the beginner sailing course is $260.
Additionally, Club Nautique du Petit Lac Magog hosts a popular week-long day camp for youth aged 7 to 16 who have a passion for sailing and the outdoors. The camp runs from June 24th to August 16th and includes a variety of sailing activities such as dinghy sailing, catamaran sailing, and windsurfing, as well as water sports like kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. Safety training and rescue techniques are also part of the program, ensuring a fun and secure environment for young sailors to develop their skills.
