Cockfosters Bowling Club invites players of all levels, from beginners to seasoned bowlers, to join their dynamic community. Organised by Laura, the club offers a range of activities including rollups, internal competitions, and competitive leagues at the county, district, and local levels.
Training is available with qualified coaches who cater to members’ needs, ensuring everyone can improve their game. New to lawn bowls? Laura encourages you to watch a game, join a trial session, or sign up for a free training programme. Just bring some flat-soled shoes.
Throughout the year, Laura organises events to promote lawn bowls, with highlights like the Bowls Big Weekend, which recently saw over 40 visitors and many new members. If you missed it, Laura and the team are happy to arrange another visit.
Pre-season workshops are designed to refresh skills and knowledge, ensuring players are ready for the upcoming season. Coaching sessions, led by qualified coaches, are available for both newcomers and current members looking to enhance their skills – and they’re free of charge.
Community support is a core value at Cockfosters Bowling Club. Laura organises fundraising events, such as last year’s President’s Day which raised funds for a charity supporting Ukraine, and this year’s contributions will go to London’s Air Ambulance Charity.
Additionally, Laura hosts a weekly session for the Enfield Parkinson’s Society, providing a friendly atmosphere for participants every Thursday from 10am to 12pm.
Interested in joining? Visit the club’s website or contact them directly. Proudly affiliated with Bowls England, Middlesex Bowls Association, and Finchley & North London Bowls Association, Cockfosters Bowling Club looks forward to welcoming you.
