The Coffs Harbour Hash House Harriers is a friendly sports club located in Coffs Harbour, Australia. The club is open to both men and women who enjoy socialising, drinking, and running. Everyone is welcome to join, and first-timers are especially encouraged to come along and introduce themselves.
The club holds regular runs every Monday evening, rain, hail, or shine. Members gather at 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start, following a run/walk that is marked by a member known as the Hare using chalk, flour, and paper. Upcoming runs can be found on the club's website or Facebook page.
Participation in the runs is free for first-time runners and walkers, and $8 per run thereafter, which includes dinner, nibbles, and drinks. Annual membership fees of $25 are due in November and grant individuals access to special events and the club's email list. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, members are currently required to bring their own drinks to the runs.
The Coffs Harbour Hash House Harriers has several subgroups within the club, catering to different interests. The Blokes Only Hash (BOH) runs take place on the first Wednesday of every month and are open to male members. The Gash Hash (Girls Hash, Non Blokes Hash) is held on the last Thursday of every month, and interested participants can contact Quickette or Clipper for more information.
In addition to the regular runs, the club also organises Friday lunches at various restaurants or pubs in the Coffs Harbour area. Members gather at 12:29pm to enjoy a meal together. The location for each Friday lunch is announced in the club's Run Report from the previous week.
The Coffs Harbour Hash House Harriers aims to promote physical fitness among its members, provide a fun and supportive environment to socialise, and quench thirsts with a refreshing drink. The club also emphasises the power of camaraderie and encourages older members to stay active and feel youthful.
