About
Coggeshall Community Swimming Pool, located on Westfield Drive in Coggeshall, Essex, has been a staple of the community for over 30 years. This charity-run facility prides itself on a safe and welcoming environment where children and adults alike can improve their swimming skills.
Built by the hands of local volunteers and tradespeople, Coggeshall Community Swimming Pool is deeply rooted in the local area. Currently, over 400 children benefit from the pool’s swimming lessons, which run in the evenings and on Saturdays, catering to individuals and schools alike.
Tina Kemble leads the team as Pool Manager. Tina isn't just a manager; she's a qualified teacher, lifeguard, and pool plant operator. She's supported by dedicated instructors Kate Owen, TJ Sears, and Karen Cade, along with lifeguards Teresa Hardy, Alissa Humphries, and Emily West. Gillian Humphries looks after finance, reception, and fundraising, ensuring the pool runs smoothly.
Given the charity-run nature of the pool, contact via email is often the quickest way to get a response. The lessons, which follow the STA scheme, range from beginners to improvers and are scheduled on various weekdays and Saturdays. Parent and toddler classes are available on Wednesday and Friday mornings during term time.
Although public swimming sessions are paused for now, the team aims to restart them soon. Stay connected with Coggeshall Community Swimming Pool on Facebook for the latest updates and be part of an inclusive and friendly swimming community.
