About

John, the organiser at Combe Bank Fisheries, wanted to share a quick update with the sports community. Combe Bank Fisheries, sitting in Sevenoaks, Kent, right at the top of the Darenth Valley, has been a spot for fishing fans for almost 400 years. Originally two smaller ponds, it got a bit of a makeover back in 1745.

The main draw here is Combe Bank Lake, a 7-acre delight split into two halves. The first bit is just lovely with loads of lily pads and is home to some impressive carp, including a whopper at 38lb. The second half, past a spit, offers a different but just as enjoyable fishing scene, and has a record carp weighing in at 21lb.

Then there's Old School Pond. Back in 2017, the team decided it needed a bit of sprucing up due to hundreds of years of silt building up. With some hefty machinery, they cleared it out and now it's a charming 1-acre spot with seven swims, also boasting a 21lb record carp.

John took over the club last June and mentions that they've been uncovering some fantastic fish, many in top condition and some possibly never hooked before.

For those keen on giving Combe Bank Fisheries a go, you’re welcome to pop in, have a nose around, and chat about any questions. Just give them a bell or drop an email to set it up.

Heads up, the fishery is closed for maintenance but will be back open on Thursday, 21st May. There are some new rules for social distancing and safety, and all bookings now need to be done online via the club’s website. Plus, anglers need to keep their swims tidy and take their rubbish with them.

John and the team at Combe Bank Fisheries are buzzing to welcome both new faces and old mates back to enjoy the fishing grounds.
