About
WCCI Convergence Festival is excited to announce the 6th Annual Vancouver Contact Improvisation Festival in collaboration with Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts (SCA) from May 3rd to May 5th, 2024. Delia Brett, a seasoned CI practitioner with 35 years of experience, will lead classes focusing on creating safe and inclusive spaces for all identities, drawing from her extensive work with youth. Additionally, master classes by Cyrus Khambatta, a two-hour somatic experiencing class by Natalie Rousseau and Sasha Klapkiw, and unique offerings from local teachers such as EDAM and Salt Spring contributors will be available.
Participants can look forward to a diverse range of studies, from clowning to improvisation, catering to professional dancers, jammers, flow folx, yogis, somanauts, and those interested in embodiment and healing arts. The festival aims to provide a stimulating environment for cross-pollination and exploration of diverse movement practices.
