CAMRC Coquitlam Area Model Racing Club is a non-profit community of off-road RC Car Racing Enthusiasts located in Coquitlam. Memberships fees and community volunteers are what keep the track alive, and new racers, novices, and spectators are encouraged to join. Members have exclusive access to the track from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, with the exception of event and maintenance days.
A CAMRC membership comes with many perks, including reduced race fees on race days. Newcomers, novices, and returning racers are all welcome, with mentorship and guidance available from seasoned club members to help newcomers get up to speed quickly. With a 26-year history, CAMRC has been a part of the Lower Mainland's organized radio-controlled model car racing scene.
The club operates under City of Coquitlam Parks and Community Facilities Rules and Regulations Bylaw No. 3617, 2004. Members are expected to chip in to maintain the track, with tasks such as picking rocks, sweeping the track, blowing leaves and debris, and picking up litter. Work parties are also organized to improve the track with the help of local sponsors and businesses, providing door prizes and perks for members who participate.
CAMRC also has teams and committees, including Director Roles, Track Maintenance Team, Treasurer, Race Directors, and Event Teams. Those interested in helping out can contact the club to get involved. With a focus on teamwork and community involvement, CAMRC Coquitlam Area Model Racing Club offers a fun and exciting environment for RC car racing enthusiasts of all skill levels.
