Force you to spar if you don't want to. We understand that everyone has different preferences and comfort levels when it comes to physical contact. You can still participate in the striking training without engaging in sparring sessions. Our instructors will provide alternative exercises and techniques to ensure that you can still learn and improve your skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.
At Crash Kombat, we prioritise creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere for our members. We believe that martial arts training should not only be effective for self-defence and fitness, but also enjoyable and engaging. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to helping you reach your goals, whether that's improving your fitness, building self-confidence, or even pursuing competitive opportunities in MMA or K1.
Located in Dorking, Surrey, our club is easily accessible at the dojo on Hampstead Road. We offer training sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, with specific hours listed on our social media and club directories. You can contact us by phone or email to express your interest and arrange your visit to our club. We encourage beginners to come down and train with us, as we believe in providing a welcoming environment for people of all ages, genders, and ability levels.
When coming to a class, we recommend arriving 10 minutes early to allow yourself time to change and warm up. Suitable clothing for the training includes loose-fitting shorts and/or compression tights, preferably without zippers or buttons. It is important to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during the session. Flip-flops are also advised for moving around the non-padded areas of the dojo.
Additionally, remember to bring a change of clothes for after the class.
If you have your own hand wraps and boxing gloves, feel free to wear them, although we do have gloves that you can borrow for the class. Shinpads may be required for some classes, but for beginners, they are not necessary. Our instructors can provide more details about any required equipment during the class.
You do not need to be already fit to join Crash Kombat. Our workouts are modified for every individual's ability, catering to all fitness levels. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced athlete, our classes are designed to accommodate everyone. No previous experience is required, and we welcome people from all backgrounds to join our classes.
On your first visit, please sign in at the front desk and find our instructor, Steve. He will guide you through the class and ensure you have a clear understanding of what will happen during the session. If you have any questions or concerns about sparring or any other aspects of the training, feel free to discuss them with Steve or any other team members.
If you are interested in pursuing MMA or K1 competition, Crash Kombat can certainly assist you. While our classes primarily focus on the stand-up striking side of MMA, our affiliation with Dorking Dojo also provides opportunities for training in grappling through Koba BJJ. We can help you develop the necessary skills and techniques for a white collar or amateur MMA competition.
