The Creston Judo Club is led by a team of dedicated and experienced instructors. Leelen Samuelson, a Black Belt (Nidan) in Judo since 1999, has competed at the national level and currently instructs junior classes and recreational adults. Laura Knudsen, also a Black Belt (Shodan), returned to the club in 2017 as an assistant coach and completed her Shodan grading in 2022.
The club has a long history of success, with members achieving championships at various levels. The executive team, including President Melissa Beaton and Treasurer Adam Saby, work tirelessly to ensure the club runs smoothly. Regular classes are held for members to improve their skills and fitness levels.
Registration for the current season is closed, but returning members are encouraged to re-register for the upcoming season. New members are also welcome to join and experience the benefits of Judo training, including discipline, confidence, and physical fitness. The club's constitution and bylaws ensure that all members adhere to the principles of respect and sportsmanship.
