Cribbage Evenings take place every Thursday evening at Shiplake Village Bowling Club, located in Henley-on-Thames. These evenings are a fantastic way to get involved during the off-season, which runs from mid-September to mid-April.
The events are expertly organised by Wendy C, who ensures that everything runs smoothly. Whether you're a seasoned player or a complete newbie, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun.
The format of the evening is similar to Monday points, with games being played weekly. If you arrive before 7.25pm, you can jump right into the games. We play three games, then take a 10-minute break to grab a refreshing drink from the open bar. After the break, we dive back into another three games. Each session lasts about an hour, giving you the flexibility to participate in one or both sessions according to your preference.
If you're interested in keeping score, a league table is kept for those who want to challenge themselves and aim for the top spot. And for those competitive souls, there's even a chance to win a well-deserved trophy at the end of the season in April.
Even if you've never played cribbage before, don't worry! Newcomers are always welcome, and you can watch the games for the first couple of times to get a feel for it. We love to see fresh faces getting involved and enjoying themselves.
