Crimson Coast Dance Society is a non-profit organization based in Nanaimo, dedicated to showcasing a diverse range of dance performances and workshops. Our mission is to bring innovative and inspiring dance experiences to the community, promoting dialogue, inclusivity, and artistic excellence.
Through our Main Stage Series and annual Dance Festival, we present live performance art by locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized artists throughout the year. Our programming includes a variety of events, from large-scale productions to intimate pop-up performances in alternative venues.
In addition to performances, Crimson Coast Dance Society offers a variety of workshops and programs for all ages and skill levels. From one-off classes to residencies and master classes, participants have the opportunity to learn from guest artists, local masters, and emerging talent. Our Body Talk Youth Program, led by Indigenous facilitators, aims to engage Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in the production of shows through a cultural lens.
We are committed to inclusivity and accessibility, offering ASL interpreter services for all events. Our ongoing dance experiences cater to diverse age groups and abilities, providing integrated dance classes and opportunities for teens to explore careers in the performing arts.
