Bowls sessions are held every week on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons during the summer, and switch to Tuesday afternoons and Saturday afternoons in the winter. These sessions are open to everyone, and new players will be paired up with experienced players for coaching. The club also provides bowls for those who don't have their own equipment.
In addition to regular bowling sessions, the Cromwell Bowling Club hosts a range of affiliated community organisations. The club has a strong contingent of men's and women's teams who compete locally and regionally, but there are also many players who prefer non-competitive games on the Cromwell Bowling Club Green. After a game, players can gather in the comfortable club rooms to chat and socialise.
The Cromwell Bowling Club is a registered charitable organisation since July 2014 and welcomes members of all ages. Membership is open to both women and men, and the club takes pride in creating a warm and inclusive environment. Whether someone wants to learn bowls or return to bowls, they will be welcomed with open arms and the opportunity to meet new people in the community.
Since its founding on August 24, 1911, the Cromwell Bowling Club has been a prominent fixture in the Cromwell community. With over 150 active members, the club is committed to providing high-quality bowling opportunities that are enjoyable, entertaining, and accessible to all in the community. Their vision is to make a significant contribution to the health and welfare of the Cromwell and Districts Community by becoming a hub for bowls and supporting other community activities.
The club's green, located at 50 Alpha Street Cromwell, is open each day, except for the first half of Monday morning, for members and their friends and families to play bowls. Non-members are also welcome to use the green, with a small fee of $5 per person. The club also offers coaching for new and existing bowlers to improve their skills.
Throughout summer, the Cromwell Bowling Club hosts major tournaments, with the largest one held over the Easter weekend. These tournaments are a great opportunity for players to showcase their skills and compete against bowlers from other clubs.
Overall, the Cromwell Bowling Club is a friendly and inclusive sports club that provides both competitive and social bowling opportunities. With its beautiful outdoor artificial green, indoor facility, and comfortable club rooms, it's the perfect place to enjoy a game of bowls, meet new people, and be part of the Cromwell community.
