Cropwell Cricket Club is a friendly and social Sunday afternoon cricket club located in Nottingham. We believe in playing the game for fun while enjoying our delightful surroundings. The club's history dates back to the existence of Cropwell Butler Cricket Club and Cropwell Bishop Cricket Club. However, both clubs had ceased to exist until 2010 when a bright spark decided to start playing cricket on the Sheldon Field in Cropwell Butler, which was previously only used for football.
Within a short period, new players were attracted from Cropwell Butler and the neighbouring village of Cropwell Bishop. A decision was then made to form a new team called Cropwell Cricket Club. Since then, the club has been actively participating in matches throughout the summer on Sunday afternoons. We compete against other friendly teams in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
Cropwell Cricket Club welcomes members of all ages, ranging from 13 to old age. We encourage new members to join, regardless of their cricketing standard. Our aim is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the game and be part of a close-knit cricketing community.
The club's fixtures for 2023 include exciting matches against various teams. Some notable fixtures include the Butler vs. Bishop 20/20 match on April 30th, a day out at Trent Bridge on July 2nd, and a 6-a-side tournament on July 9th. All matches are scheduled to start at 2:00 pm unless otherwise stated.
