To modern target shooting. At Crowthorne Archers, we prioritise the safety of our members and visitors above all else.

Crowthorne Archers is a target archery club located in Wokingham, Berkshire. Our club primarily focuses on the recurve bow, but we also have members who shoot barebow, longbow, flat bow, and compound bow. We warmly welcome individuals of all ages to come and try archery, as it is a sport that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

One of our main goals is to provide properly qualified and insured instruction to beginners, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning experience. We offer all the necessary equipment for beginners to start their archery journey. Archery is a sport that is easy to learn, with no specific physical requirements, making it accessible to everyone who has a responsible attitude.

While many of our members shoot purely for recreation, we also have members who have achieved great success in competitions. Some of our members have represented Berkshire in various divisions, including adult recurve, adult longbow, and junior teams. Our junior members, in particular, have achieved remarkable results, with some holding British records. We are proud to have had members represent Great Britain in the past.

Visitors are always welcome to join us for a session, but we kindly request that you bring your Archery GB Membership Card or proof of membership from another club for insurance purposes. Safety is of utmost importance, and we cannot allow visitors to shoot without the necessary proof of capability.

We shoot outdoors all year round at our field location on Sunday mornings and Bank Holiday Mondays. During summer (April to October), we also shoot on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in addition to Sunday mornings. In winter (October to April), we shoot indoors on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons at a local sports hall, weather permitting.

At Crowthorne Archers, we take coaching and development seriously. We have an active and successful coaching programme that includes both indoor and outdoor courses throughout the year. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced archer aiming to enhance your skills, we have resources and support available to help you achieve your goals.

Safety is our top priority, and we want to assure all our members and visitors that we comply with the rules and regulations set forth by Archery GB. Both our shooting locations, St Sebastians and Sandhurst Sports Centre, have been certified as compliant with the Archery GB “Rules of Shooting.

Please keep in mind that archery is an inherently dangerous sport, and there are risks involved. We prioritise the safety of all our participants and have taken measures to ensure a safe environment. We ask all members and visitors to adhere to our health and safety guidelines for their own well-being.
