The Principal of Dance In Action Studio is Ashleigh Baecker, a highly experienced and qualified dance teacher. Ashleigh ensures that all students receive the best training and education in their chosen dance style. She is passionate about providing a safe and nurturing environment for students to grow and develop their skills.
At Dance In Action Studio, the privacy, and protection of students' personal information is of utmost importance. The school is fully compliant with data protection regulations, ensuring that all information provided by students and their families is kept secure and used only for the purpose of dance education.
The dance studio is equipped with excellent training facilities, including a harlequin sprung floor, ballet barres, mirrored walls, reception area, and changing rooms. These facilities create a professional and conducive atmosphere for learning and practising dance.
Dance In Action Studio welcomes students of all ages, starting from three years old. The school follows the syllabus of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern dance styles. For Contemporary/Lyrical and Commercial dance styles, the BATD Freestyle branch is followed. Students have the opportunity to take grade examinations up to vocational level.
Those who demonstrate exceptional aptitude can even undergo further training to become registered BATD Teachers.
Students at Dance In Action Studio have various performance opportunities throughout the year. They are expected to participate in the biennial show at Eden Court, Inverness, showcasing their skills and talent. Additionally, students are encouraged to take part in workshops and masterclasses to enhance their dance abilities.
The school also has a Dance Company, consisting of students with exceptional dance and performance abilities. Members of the Dance Company represent Dance In Action Studio in competitions and performances. Auditions for the Dance Company are held usually on a yearly basis.
The policy of Dance In Action Studio is that students receive their teaching and training exclusively from the school in the specific dance style they are enrolled in. While one-off workshops and summer schools are acceptable, representing another dance/theatre organisation in a similar dance style or being a member/associate of another organisation in the same or similar dance style is not permitted. Exceptions are made for Ballet Associate programmes, as long as they supplement the training provided by the regular dance teacher/school.
Teaching dance or any related activity for another organisation while attending classes at Dance In Action Studio is also not allowed. These policies ensure that students receive consistent and comprehensive training and avoid any conflict of interest.
