Special Olympics Clubs – Central Coast, a well-known Ten Pin Bowling club in the Central Coast region, is delighted to promote an upcoming local Ten Pin Bowling event. This event is specifically organised for Special Olympics athletes who have a passion for bowling and are eager to showcase their skills on the bowling lanes. The club is excited to extend an invitation to all interested players in the area.
In an effort to foster inclusivity and diversity within the sporting landscape, Special Olympics Australia has recently formed a groundbreaking partnership with DanceSport Australia. This unique collaboration aims to create more inclusive programs in dance schools across the country. Judy Pegus, Chairwoman of DanceSport WA, expressed her enthusiasm for this partnership and the joint goal to establish a truly diverse and inclusive sport.
DanceSport WA has already received immense support for its all-abilities programs and competitions, which have attracted a significant number of participants. This success has not only expanded the community reach of DanceSport WA but has also made the organisation eligible for state government funding. With the formalisation of this partnership, Special Olympics competitions will now be integrated into the DanceSport national and state competitions.
This integration is a remarkable opportunity for Special Olympics athletes to compete at a national level through DanceSport competitions once a year. Additionally, they can also participate in the Special Olympics National Games, a prestigious event held every four years. Corene Strauss, CEO of Special Olympics Australia, expressed her excitement about this new addition to the Games, which provides an avenue for members of the DanceSport community to compete through the Special Olympics pathway.
Australia is at the forefront of introducing DanceSport programs within the global Special Olympics movement. Building upon this progress, the upcoming Special Olympics National Games in 2022 will feature a captivating DanceSport demonstration event. Subsequently, DanceSport will be recognised as an official sport at the following National Games in 2026 and World Games in 2027.
As a passionate supporter of Special Olympics athletes, Special Olympics Clubs – Central Coast eagerly promotes this Ten Pin Bowling event. It is an excellent opportunity for athletes to demonstrate their bowling prowess, compete alongside their peers, and embrace the spirit of sportsmanship.
If you are a dedicated Ten Pin Bowling player or know someone who would love to be a part of this exciting event, mark your calendars and join us for a truly inclusive and exhilarating bowling experience. Stay tuned for further updates and registration details on our official Facebook event page!
