Dance Works is a dance studio located in Bolton, Timperley, and Stonyhurst. They offer a safe and fun environment where students can explore the exciting world of Dance, Drama, and Musical Theatre. The studio is dedicated to bringing out the best in their students by working towards International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) exams and participating in shows that support charity events and their own Dance Works show.
At Dance Works, they offer a range of classes and timetables to suit different interests and skill levels. Their modern dance classes follow the IDTA Modern Jazz syllabus, which combines technique, strengthening exercises, and rhythmical exercises to achieve different feelings and approaches to modern dance. Students learn to dance to a wide variety of music, including pop, jazz, contemporary, and funk, while also improving flexibility and building stamina. Modern jazz classes are available for students aged 5 years and older.
For those interested in street dance, Dance Works offers classes that teach the latest and hottest new dance moves seen in pop videos, movies, and concerts. Street dance is a fusion of jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, pop, and commercial dance, creating fast and funky routines that are both enjoyable and great for staying fit.
Cheerleading is also a popular class at Dance Works, where students develop their dance skills, use exciting music, and even learn to use Pom Pons. Cheerleading classes are open to students as young as 2 years old, and they work towards ground bound exams individually and as a team. Cheerleading is not only fun on stage but also a crowd-pleaser at Dance Works' annual show and charity events.
In addition to these classes, Dance Works also offers contemporary dance classes that combine different dance genres and focus on expressive movements. Contemporary dancers emphasise the connexion between the mind and body through fluid dance movements, often performed barefoot and with a focus on floorwork.
Ballet is seen as a core subject at Dance Works, as it provides the foundations for all aspects of dance. They follow the I. A. dance syllabus, aiming to build students' confidence and technique while working towards and taking examinations.
Ballet classes are available from the age of 2 years.
Furthermore, Dance Works now offers LAMDA Acting, which is studied alongside their basic drama classes. This class allows students to develop their drama skills through group or solo performances in exam-based assessments. They cover various elements of drama, including skills-based training, voice, character development, script work, and devising.
Dance Works is dedicated to providing a holistic dance education that nurtures each student's potential, confidence, and technique. With a variety of classes available and a focus on both exams and performances, Dance Works offers a comprehensive dance experience for students of all ages and abilities.
