Beginning at telephone box junction, riders will be matched with their trusty steeds before embarking on the ride of a lifetime. As the journey commences, participants will be treated to awe-inspiring views while their horses expertly navigate the cattle tracks. The trail winds through the majestic woolybutt forest, gradually ascending through the twisted snow gums towards the summit of Mt. Stirling. Here, riders can take a moment to savor the breathtaking panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Throughout the ride, there's a unique chance to engage with Bruce, one of the legendary riders from 'The Man from Snowy River' movies. Bruce will regale riders with fascinating tales and point out various filming locations along the way, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the experience.
Upon reaching Craig's Hut, participants will enthusiastically tie their horses to the rails and relish the opportunity to soak in the enchanting surroundings. A delectable packsaddle lunch will be provided, allowing everyone to refuel and enjoy the stunning vistas that surround them.
The return journey promises just as much awe and wonder, as riders follow ski trails and old logging and cattle tracks. This allows for further appreciation of the natural beauty that envelops the trail.
Starting bright and early at 8 am, the day ride wraps up around 4.30 pm, ensuring a full day of unforgettable moments. Lunch is included in the package, with a cost of $420 per person. Please note that for the 2024-2025 season, the price will increase to $450.
