Debbie Jay Dance Academy (DJDA) is a well-established and family-friendly dance school located in Formby, Liverpool. With over 20 years of experience, DJDA has been nurturing the talents and passion of young dancers in the area. The dance school offers a wide range of classes for dancers of all ages and levels, including Tinies Ballet, Tap & Bop, Showgirl Academy, Street Dance, Bounce Boppers, Ballet, Tap & Jazz, Pointe Strengthening, and Musical Theatre Dance.

At DJDA, the teachers are not only fully qualified but also have first-hand knowledge of performing within the industry. They are passionate about providing excellent tuition in a friendly and supportive environment. DJDA believes in encouraging dancers to strive for excellence while enjoying the journey along the way. The dance school follows the Professional Teachers of Dancing (PTD) syllabus and offers opportunities for students to participate in exams/medal tests in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Street Dance.

In addition to exams and tests, DJDA also encourages students to take part in shows and performances. These opportunities not only build confidence but also provide a fun and memorable experience for the dancers. The dance school values the importance of correct technique and ensures that it is taught in a fun, relaxed, but controlled class atmosphere.

DJDA's history dates back to 1965 when it was initially set up by Jean Berel. After Jean's retirement, Debbie Jay took over the dance school in 2000. Since then, the school has seen growth in both the number of classes offered and student enrolment. What initially started with Ballet, Jazz, and Tap classes taught by Debbie has now expanded to include Street Dance, Commercial, Showgirl Academy, fitness classes on mini trampolines, Tinies Ballet, Tap and Bop classes, Combined Ballet, Tap & Jazz Classes, Pointe Strengthening, and Musical Theatre Dance Classes.

The teaching staff at DJDA includes Miss Debbie and Miss Georgia, along with several teaching assistants.
