Just in time for the summer holidays, Disc Golf has arrived at Falls Creek Resort. The Skiing club, Falls Creek Resort Management, is excited to introduce this fun and unique sport to its guests.
Disc Golf is a game where players aim to complete each hole in the fewest number of throws using a flying disc instead of a ball. It offers a refreshing twist on traditional golf and is perfect for those looking for a new challenge.
At Falls Creek, guests can enjoy a short but fun 9-hole course in the Nordic Bowl. The course features bicycle-themed elevated baskets, also known as 'pole holes'. It adds a playful touch to the game and makes each throw even more exciting.
For those who don't have their own disc sets, don't worry! Falls Creek Resort Management has got you covered. Disc sets are available for rent at $10 per set in the Visitor Information Centre. Alternatively, guests can also purchase Falls Creek frisbees to bring their own personal touch to the game.
To help players navigate the course, printed maps are available to ensure everyone knows where they're going. And for our junior players, we have something special in store. If they bring back a completed scorecard, they will receive a certificate to celebrate their achievement.
Of course, just like any other sport, Disc Golf has its own set of rules that need to be followed. This includes being courteous towards other park users, starting each hole with a throw from the tee pad, and throwing order being based on previous scores. Players must also complete a hole when the disc lands in the basket. Out of bounds throws will incur a 1-stroke penalty.
If you're a fan of outdoor activities or simply want to try something new this summer, Disc Golf at Falls Creek Resort is an event you won't want to miss. Stay in the loop with all the latest news and upcoming events by signing up for Falls Creek Resort Management's email newsletter.
