Dive enthusiasts in the Kempsey Shire Council area have a fantastic opportunity to join the Cave Diving club, South West Rocks Dive Centre, for an exhilarating local Cave Diving event. The club is hosting this event to cater to all the divers out there who are eager to explore the underwater wonders of Fish Rock, our chosen dive location.
At South West Rocks Dive Centre, we believe that Fish Rock offers the best conditions and the most diverse marine life compared to other dive sites in the vicinity. We carefully select the dive sites around the island, depending on the prevailing conditions, to ensure that our members have a remarkable diving experience. Our expert guides, who have honed their skills over many years, will be leading the tours. With their extensive knowledge and experience, they will guide you through the underwater world, making sure you have an unforgettable adventure.
During our well-planned double dives, participants can expect to encounter awe-inspiring marine species, with the highlight being the presence of 20-30 magnificent Grey Nurse Sharks. The first dive is usually at either 'The Shark Gutters,' 'Fish & Chips,' or 'The Aquarium,' depending on the conditions. For the second dive, we head to the renowned 'Fish Rock Cave.' Here, we offer different options based on each diver's confidence and ability. Some divers may choose to enter the cave through the deep side and exit from the shallow side, while others may prefer to explore the shallow side before turning around and exiting the same way. However, if divers feel that the conditions aren't suitable or simply prefer not to dive the cave, we have the flexibility to explore other sites outside the cave.
For divers who decide to make the most of their time with us and join us for multiple days, we strive to offer a diverse range of sites. If the weather permits, we may explore the northern side of Fish Rock, which includes popular dive sites like 'The Pinnacle' and 'Land of the Giants.'
Our diving adventures kick off bright and early, with divers meeting at our dive shop at 7.45 am to set up their dive equipment. Please note that the meeting time may vary depending on weather conditions, so it's always a good idea to confirm this with us two days prior to your arrival. Once the gear is ready, we gather again at the Macleay River wharf to board our boat, which will take us to our chosen dive sites. The double dive tour typically lasts around 5.5 hours, providing you ample time to explore the underwater marvels of Fish Rock. Upon return, you can conveniently return your equipment to our dive shop, which also offers excellent washing and drying facilities. Feel free to freshen up in our showers and fill out your dive log to document your incredible diving experience.
