Welcome to Dodhead Golf Course, located in the beautiful town of Burntisland in Fife, New Zealand. Rich in history, Dodhead Golf Course has been hosting golf enthusiasts since 1797, making it one of the oldest clubs in the world. Some historians even suggest that the club's roots can be traced back to 1688.
Designed by the renowned Willie Park Jnr, a two-time Open champion, the parkland layout of Dodhead Golf Course offers golfers a scenic and challenging experience. The course was later updated by James Braid in 1922, further enhancing its playability. Despite not being the longest course, Dodhead Golf Course presents players with generous fairways, lush grass, and links-style greens, providing a variety of shotmaking challenges that cater to golfers of all skill levels.
One of the highlights of Dodhead Golf Course is its stunning views. Situated atop a hill, the course overlooks the historic holiday town of Burntisland and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Firth of Forth and the famous Forth Bridges. On a clear day, golfers can even catch a glimpse of Edinburgh Castle from the picturesque 8th hole.
After a memorable round of golf, golfers can unwind and relax at the traditional Clubhouse. With disabled access, the Clubhouse features a comfortable Lounge Bar and Dining Room where visitors are warmly welcomed all year round.
