About

Dorking Angling Society, based in the charming town of Dorking, is a longstanding hub for anglers of all skill levels. With a rich history and a devoted membership, Simon and his team at the club provide fantastic fishing opportunities.

Members have access to various venues, each offering unique experiences. The River Mole is a particularly prized spot, boasting over 150 permanent pegs. It’s a favourite for anglers chasing Chub, Roach, and Dace. Those aiming to hook Carp, Pike, or Barbel will find plenty of excitement here, with some catches reaching impressive sizes.

The river also has a healthy population of Perch, some tipping the scales at 4lbs. Anglers can also look forward to catching Trout, Gudgeon, Crucians, and Tench. Every section of the river holds a resident shoal of Bream, making the River Mole a hidden gem for Surrey’s fishing enthusiasts.

Castlefields Lake, another gem managed by the club, offers a peaceful fishing setting. This spring-fed lake accommodates 26 anglers and maintains excellent water levels, even through winter floods. It’s home to a diverse array of fish, including Carp, Crucians, Roach, Gudgeon, Skimmers, Tench, and Perch.

Puddenhole Lake is often overlooked but is a secret treasure among the club’s venues. With uncaught Roach and other traditional species like Perch, Tench, and Carp reaching up to 10lbs, this lake provides a pristine and thrilling fishing environment. It’s perfect for those seeking solitude and a personal touch to their fishing.

Dorking Mill Pond, right in the centre of town, is particularly popular with junior anglers. While parents shop nearby, young fishers can enjoy ten available swims. It’s a convenient and fun option for families to engage in the sport.

Simon and the team are dedicated to preserving fish and their habitats. Members are encouraged to follow the Barbel Society's "Handling Code" to ensure sustainable fishing practices. This commitment helps maintain a balanced and enjoyable angling experience for everyone.

New members are always welcome at Dorking Angling Society. There’s a variety of membership options, and junior membership is free for those aged 8 to 12 when accompanied by an adult. Interested individuals can visit the 'Join' page on the club’s website for more information and membership forms.

Whether you're seasoned or new to angling, Simon and the Dorking Angling Society guarantee a memorable and rewarding fishing experience in the beautiful surroundings of Dorking.
