Golf Club, located in Bolton, is proud to present Douglas Valley Golf Club. This golf club features a stunning 9-hole golf course, designed by renowned local course designer, Jeff Shuttleworth, and constructed by Craig Cooke, who has experience in reconstructing parts of famous courses such as Loch Lomond and Valderrama. The course is built to US specification, with pure sand greens, making it the only one of its kind in the area. With a par of 32, the course offers a unique and sometimes challenging playing experience, perfect for both beginners and experienced players.

One of the highlights of Douglas Valley Golf Club is its tranquil setting. The course is set against the beautiful backdrop of the Pennine hills, creating a serene environment for golfers. Wildlife enthusiasts will also be delighted, as the course is home to a variety of wildlife, from Canada Geese to the occasional deer sighting.

Douglas Valley Golf Club welcomes golfers of all abilities to join their members in weekly competitions that take place throughout the summer. As an affiliated club to the EGU and the EWGA, players can also obtain and maintain official handicaps with the Club System Handicapping Programme.

For those looking to improve their skills, Douglas Valley Golf Club offers the Chill Dip Driving Range & Teaching Academy. Established in 1992 and leased by James Barr of Chilli Dip Golf, the driving range provides a top-notch facility for golfers to practise and receive professional coaching. The Teaching Academy, run by PGA Professional Phil Newnes, offers a range of lessons and clinics for golfers of all levels.

In addition to the golf facilities, Douglas Valley Golf Club is also home to The Hawthorns Tea Rooms and an exquisite wedding and events venue. Located in the picturesque village of Blackrod, The Hawthorns provides breathtaking views of Winter Hill. The venue boasts two suites, the Hedgerow Suite for welcoming guests and the Blossom Suite for hosting events. The Blossom Suite can comfortably accommodate up to 130 day guests and 180 in the evening.
