The Dubbo Aero Club, located in Dubbo City Council, is a thriving sports club that caters to aviation enthusiasts of all kinds. Established in February 1994, the club was founded by a group of pilots who saw the need for a local Aero Club in Dubbo. The club's mission is to provide a social platform for members with an interest in aviation, regardless of their flying status.
The club prides itself on its diverse membership, which includes non-flying members, general aviation (GA) and recreational aviation (RA) members, as well as members who own their own aircraft, ranging from Jabiru to B200. Additionally, the club welcomes individuals who prefer to hire aircraft for their flying adventures.
With a motto that emphasises the importance of youth in aviation, the club aims to support and encourage the involvement of young people in aviation, recognising them as the future of the club, the sport, and the industry.
Throughout the years, the Dubbo Aero Club has organised various activities and events for its members. These have included participation in flying competitions held by Noel Howe Flying School, attending open days at Dubbo Flying School, and organising flyaways. The club has successfully raised funds through raffles and social events, resulting in a significant membership base and a substantial financial reserve.
Notably, in 1998, the founding president stepped down after successfully organising an air show and establishing a secure clubhouse. Since then, the club has continued to host other clubs, interclub flying competitions, open days, and air shows, strengthening its position as a prominent aviation hub in the region.
The club encourages anyone with an interest in aviation to join their Friday night gatherings, which take place from 17:00 onwards, or their monthly BBQs, held on the second Sunday of each month from 12 noon. These events provide an opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to meet and engage with like-minded individuals, sharing their passion for flying and fostering a supportive community.

Members and visitors can easily access the club's facilities, which are designed to accommodate the needs of aviation enthusiasts and promote their passion for flying.
